2. Partners in Rights- creative activities exploring
rights and citizenship
An
excellent pack which explores human rights issues through expressive arts,
co-operative and language activities and an attractive set of photos.
In the introductory section young people find out about children’s
rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Other
sections look at the similarities and differences between individuals,
the diversity that exists within communities, and the ways young people
can get involved in promoting children’s rights.
The activities in the pack draw on the experiences of young people in
Brazil, Cuba, Peru and the U.K. These shared experiences make the materials
meaningful and will help young people develop a firm commitment to human
rights concerns. http://www.savethechildren.org.uk/partners/
is an accessible site which gives you a flavour of the activities.

3. Passion for Fashion activity pack
This
book offers ideas for a one-day event exploring the global trade in fashion
and sportswear. The activities introduce several ideas behind fair trade,
including: who makes our clothes, where they are made, and challenges
stereotypes about garment workers in South East Asia.
The book also explores other ideas including workers' rights, and re-using
materials. Many of the activities are hands-on, including a session in
re-using old clothes and a drama performance.

4. This City Life - Street Children Around the
World
This
City Life is flexible resource using a video and board-game to explore
issues of oppression and inequality, through the eyes of children and
young people living and working on the streets. It includes a collection
of games, activities and first-hand experiences, accompanied by an easy-to-read
book which looks at why so many young people are in such difficult circumstances.
A journey round city streets, through inequality and oppression, vulnerability
and strength, the board game challenges players to make choices and decisions.
The video tells the story of the lives of the street children from their
own perspective.
